Cogway is a static website with no accounts, no login, and no database. It handles as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what it does handle and your rights over it.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Alberto Arena, an individual based in Italy, reachable at [email protected].
What data we handle
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). IP addresses are anonymised. We cannot identify you from it. If you decline cookies, none of this is collected. See the Cookie Policy.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us to send occasional emails when a new explainer ships. This is handled by MailerLite on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, which deletes you from the list.
Email you send us
If you email us, we keep that correspondence to reply to you and for nothing else.
Legal basis
- Consent for analytics cookies and for the newsletter.
- Legitimate interest in replying when you contact us.
Who processes it for us
- Google (Analytics and Tag Manager), as a data processor. It collects nothing about you until you consent, though loading its script does disclose your IP address to Google. The Cookie Policy spells this out.
- MailerLite (newsletter delivery), if you subscribe.
- Netsons (hosting, Italy) and Cloudflare (DNS and CDN).
How long we keep it
Analytics data follows Google's retention settings. Your newsletter subscription is kept until you unsubscribe. Emails you send are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, at any time:
- ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy;
- have it corrected or erased;
- withdraw consent, using Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or the unsubscribe link in any email;
- object to processing, or ask us to restrict it;
- lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority (the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
